What I've learned living in Costa Rica for a year 🇨🇷

Taking in some beach vibes at Playa Manzanillo, along the Caribbean Ocean

Last week my beloved and I celebrated one year of living in Costa Rica (you can click the link to check out 20 different photos of our adventures).

It’s been a bit of a surreal experience, as I can truthfully say that this year has flown by faster than any other that I can recall.

I’ve not only learned a tremendous amount about myself, but have also become more deeply aware of the different aspects that truly create a sense of peace and happiness within my life.

Frankly put, in a word, my life feels so much simpler to me.

I naturally wake up each morning between 4:15 - 4:45AM without an alarm clock.

I then go through an assortment of daily practices including journaling, meditation, breathwork, and some form of body movement.

I then often read some spiritual or personal growth text for 20-30 minutes, which usually inspires me to pick an anchor word for what my intention is for the day.

Some examples would be:

-       Peace

-       Expansion

-       Connection

-       Openness

-       Love

-       Clarity

-       Service

And usually by the time all of that is complete, it’s usually sometime between 8-8:30AM, in which I begin my actual ‘work day.’

This is comprised between writing and being in coaching dialogue with others from all around the world.

Just this past week alone, I was in dialogue with individuals from Slovenia, California, New York, Michigan, London, Texas, Switzerland, and Hawaii.

This upcoming shortened week (due to the holidays), I’m in dialogue with individuals in Washington DC, Kenya, and Wisconsin.

Why do I mention all of this?

Because I absolutely love it.

I love supporting others in the creations of what they truly want and desire within their lives.

Creating a safe space in the art of truly slowing people down, so that their own inner wisdom can be seen more clearly.

We live in a world where technology is so interconnected within our lives, to the point where many people feel overwhelmed, mentally scattered, and in a constant fatigued state.

I say all of this with non-judgement, as that was a part of my normal daily rhythm for many years.

However, what I’ve learned in my experience is that if you want something, you got to go out and get it.

No president, spiritual/religious leader, or government has the answers.

It’s all about what is deeply inside of ourselves, and how attune we are within our most aligned essence.

The mind is sooooooo impressionable, I believe more now than it’s ever been.

Why is that?

Because of the whole intermixing of technology being weaved in nearly every aspect of one’s daily lives.

From smart phones, to smart watches, to laptops, e-book readers, Alexa’s, high definition televisions, Netflix/Amazon movies, and I’m sure I’m probably forgetting to name some others.

Now are all or any of these innately bad?

Not at all, as I personally have all of these devices (sans Alexa).

However, now more than any time in our human history, it is important to protect your mind.

To be very discerning of what all you allow into it, as well as the amount of space of nothingness you create for yourself, to balance it out.

Let’s go back to creating your own reality though.

We live in a new world.

A world that if you’re clinging onto the past, you’ll be sure to be left far behind.

This new world is about two things:

1.     Adaptability

2.     Focus

Being able to adapt to different uncontrollable changes, that if not properly prepared for on a mental, emotional, and spiritual level, could create an overall inner feeling of ‘stuckness.’

And the latter, around focus, has to do with allowing the world (and mainly the technology fabric within it) to continue to advance (because if it’s not clear now to you, then it’ll never be), while still channeling one’s energy towards individually creating the world they desire to live, now (again, rather than to old models or stories of the past that no longer serve).

Why do I mention this?

Because you wouldn’t believe the number of messages and conversations I’ve had with individuals who are unconsciously limiting themselves (or the equivalent of spraying a water hose on their fire).

If I, who as a young boy experienced severe anxiety, stuttering, was nearly diagnosed as being dyslexic, had low self-esteem and confidence all the way up until my mid-twenties, and dealt with a stage of deep depression just a few years ago, can describe living life from a truly authentic level of inner peace and contentment, you definitely can.

If I, that young boy (whose father by the way passed away when he was 12), who also previously suffered from addictions to porn, alcohol, and cigarettes, can completely let go of all of these, you definitely can.

If I, a young man who just over two months shy of his 30th birthday, can resign from the #1 valued sports franchise in the world, in order to ultimately recreate myself (and new and more harmonized professional work to align with that recreation), you definitely can.

If I, in the pursuit of creating a new lifestyle by design (one in which I felt I was building something new from scratch, with the intention of creating an even more positive impact in the world), can go from a six-figure income to sleeping on my sister’s sofa for nearly nine months (yet still have 0% regret or unwavering in the direction that I was being led, during that time), you definitely can.

If I, Brandon Bennett, can:

-       Travel to 25 different countries around the world

-       Work 100% from my laptop (beginning two years before covid)

-       Spend a summer in Finland and another in South America

-       Live in Costa Rica

-       Be a featured speaker at one of the top personal growth & spirituality conferences in the world

-       Support clients in 5 out of 7 continents throughout the world

-       And be in a healthy and loving partnership with someone who couldn’t be more different than me (LOL, trust me when I say it’s taken a lot of work for us to be where we are at today)

Then guess what….

You definitely CAN!

For some of you who are reading this, none of this may even truly land for you.

However, I know there’s at least one person who it is landing for, and doing so on a very deep level.

Ultimately, I’m just writing this to plead with you to step into your authentic inner power, and fully OWN your greatness.

Each and every one of us who are born on this planet, are sovereign and free.

Free to be whoever it is that you stake a claim to be.

Free to create yourself in exactly the image that is in alignment within your inner truth.

And most importantly, free to choose anew, whenever a past version or creation may no longer serve, in order to make room for a new birthing (and inevitably) expansion to occur.

This is why we’re here on this planet.

This is why our inner light and power is beyond what even words can truly convey.

This is why right now, this very moment, is all that truly matters.

As the future doesn’t exist, and the past is but the past, however the present moment is truly all that we ever have….. so let’s not only make it last, but also do a damn good job in fearlessly bringing out the depth of what is inside of us, so that when our time is up and gone, and we can reflect back (wherever we are), we can do so from a place of inner peace and happiness, and with absolutely zero regrets.

With Love,

Brandon

P.S. –

If you’re ready truly slow down and bring in this 2022 New Year from a place of inner peace, calm, and clarity as to not only what you want to create in your life moving forward, but also how to cultivate a daily state of being that attracts more and more of it within your life, then you can set up a call with me here.

However only do so if you’re truly ready for your life to transform, as that’s what I’m all about, and the energy that I bring for each and every one (I invite you to do the same).
